All the Small Things - Recent Work by Lesley Halliwell
Grosvenor Museum and Art Gallery, Chester
30 January - 11 April 2010
Curated by Peter Boughton
Spirograph, felt-tip pens, blotting paper, tip-ex and graph paper sound more like the contents of a teenager’s schoolbag than the artist materials. But, in this solo exhibition of recent work by Lesley Halliwell, a lecturer in Fine Art at the University of Chester, they have been transformed into exuberant abstract drawings and paintings, exploring pattern, colour, repetition and the tension between chaos and control.
Exhibition created in partnership with the University of Chester.
